ARRIVALS

SATURDAY OCTOBER 25TH 4-5PM

ARTS AT KING STREET STATION

FREE ADMISSION

Arrivals by The Seattle Project is a movement performance and exhibition inspired by the historic King Street Station and its significance as a site of passage, migration, and transformation for communities in Seattle. Commissioned by the Seattle Office of Arts & Culture, this work explores the everyday movements that take place in this public space, people arriving, departing, pausing, and passing through.

What began as research grew into a larger exploration of the histories embedded in both the city and the station itself, particularly the stories of the immigrants and migrants who first stepped into Seattle through these doors. Among the countless travelers who have passed through King Street Station, many were arriving from other places, bringing with them their hopes, cultures, and dreams.

In a time marked by increasing displacement and forced migration, creating work in this space has deepened our awareness that movement, whether by choice or not, is a natural and constant part of life. Responding to the rhythms of the station through performance became a way to honor both the personal and collective journeys that continue to unfold here.
